About Aging Well Eldercare

Our story began in 1988 when Debra Levy (Debbie) founded Debra Levy Eldercare Associates (DLEA). Debbie was a pioneer and an exceptional leader in the field of care management and dedicated her career of over 30 years to serving the needs of aging adults and individuals with disabilities. In July 2012, Debbie was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer. Our staff rallied to provide emotional and care management support to Debbie and her family, while they also continued to meet the care needs of our many clients. Our long time Director of Care Management, Susy Elder Murphy, led the staff and Debbie’s family through this very challenging time and continued to do so after her death 3 months later. Inspired by Debbie's professional knowledge, creativity, and generous spirit, we remain determined to continue her mission of helping the aging adults of our community.

As the owner of the company, Susy is very proud of our growth since 2012 and our rebranding to Aging Well Eldercare (AWE) in April 2022. Our team of dedicated care managers have backgrounds in nursing, social work, gerontology and physical therapy and are all members of the Aging Life Care Association. In addition to our care management support, we also offer our Debbie's Angels concierge companion program, our WellSenior program for clients who wish to plan proactively for potential future care needs, as well as our family caregiver support through our e-library of articles on everything from driving safely to tips to prevent caregiver burnout. It is through our collaborative, interdisciplinary teamwork that we are able to continue to provide the highest quality Aging Life Care Management services in the Metro DC area.
