Every May we join the Aging Life Care Association (ALCA) in celebrating our profession and the work of Aging Life Care Managers. We are very proud that our entire team of 13 care managers, with varied backgrounds in social work, nursing and gerontology, are all members of ALCA.
We are especially proud that three of us, Susan Blum, LCSW-C, LICSW, C-ASWCM, our Director of Care Management, Jane Barnes, MS, RN, CMC, and Susy Murphy, BA, CMC, Owner, have all achieved the additional certification required so that we are recognized as Advanced Professionals in our field. Our membership in ALCA assures our clients and their families that we follow the highest ethical standards and that we are all recognized as having the necessary knowledge and expertise to advocate, monitor, support and assess the needs of our clients who face the challenges of aging and disability.
The US Census Bureau reports that the average annual growth rate of older Americans between 2010-2030 will be 2.8%, the second highest growth rate in our country’s history. This means that the demand for Aging Life Care™ Managers will also continue to climb.
