A Season of Gratitude & Celebration!
The beginning of our 30th year as a family-owned business is off to a fantastic start! On November 1, 2017, our 29th anniversary, we joined with Kensington Park and other community partners for their Friendsgiving food drive to support Manna Food Center in Rockville. In honor of our 30th year of providing care management services, our goal was to contribute 300 pounds of food. We are thrilled to announce that, through the generosity of our staff, clients and professional colleagues, we collected OVER 400 POUNDS OF FOOD! Our contribution helped Kensington Park exceed their goal of collecting 1,000 pounds, and the total contribution to Manna was over 2500 pounds of food! They also collected nearly $500 in cash for the food pantry. We are so grateful and excited about this first 30th anniversary celebratory event and plans are on the way for even more exciting charitable and fun events.
During this holiday season, as has been our tradition for many years, we have chosen to support and make a donation to a local nonprofit that provide services to seniors. This year, we are delighted to support Arts For The Aging (AFTA), whose mission is to serve older adults living with physical and cognitive impairment by engaging them in arts activities to stimulate their minds, bodies, spirits and imaginations. Please visit their website www.AFTAarts.org/about-us or call 301-255-0103 to learn more about how you can help or how they can help someone you know.
Another exciting celebration for DLEA is the fourth anniversary of our Debbie’s Angels program! We launched that program as a way to honor the memory of Debra Levy, our founder, while meeting the needs of our clients who require some support to engage in favorite activities. Over the last 4 years our gifted and compassionate Angels provided social engagement and life enrichment activities to seniors who are isolated and coping with the challenges of aging or disability. Findings from a recent customer satisfaction survey conducted by the company in November were very favorable–100% of our clients who responded were “very satisfied” with the service. We were very pleased with the results of this annual survey and it confirms that this service is effective and valued in the community.
We thank you for choosing our practice to help with the care of your family member. Our professional staff of social workers, registered nurses, gerontologists, and certified care managers are available to offer older adults and individuals with disabilities and their families the most effective support and advocacy possible.
We wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season and a happy and healthy 2018!
