Thanks to Kim Picca for 15 Exceptional Years!

She started her journey with DLEA in February 2003. This is her DLEA story…

Kim PiccaHaving worked in the hospital, first as a certified nursing assistant, and then as a new nurse, I found that I barely had any time to get to know my patients or their families.

I was attracted to care management because it enables me to care for clients in a more wholistic manner — not only focusing on the different aspects of their physical and mental health, we also have the personal privilege of looking at ways to enhance their quality of life.

Now that I work with Debra Levy Eldercare Associates, it is my relationships with my clients and their families, as well as with my colleagues, that motivate me. I am truly fulfilled by the relationships I have working in collaboration with my colleagues and other professionals. I feel really blessed to be able to make a difference in the lives of our clients, either through my direct care management support or by supporting and encouraging my colleagues as they work to make a positive difference in the lives of our clients. We have a very special group of talented people at DLEA, and I am thrilled to be a part of this team!

I take care of myself by exercising, and especially feel recharged by spending time outdoors — talking long walks and hiking. I love to read and recently joined a book club; for a while there, my only reading involved children’s books! I especially enjoy time with my family, whether it’s doing the regular daily routines, attending their activities/sports, or going on outings and vacations. I also enjoy time with my girlfriends and having the time for a phone call to catch up and get a good “dose” of a dear friend.
